Mission Statement & Strategic Plan
Join the Discussion!
The Huntsville Public Library has hired Bloom Consultants to collect information and guide us through the creation of our strategic plan. We are reaching out for ideas from the community throughout this process. Input from the community will build a foundation for the plan, which will be used to guide the library over the next four years. The board and staff are eager to hear not only from the individuals or families who are using the library, they also want to hear from those who have not used its programs, services, or facilities yet.
Share your opinions with us, take our online survey or attend one of our community sessions on September 21 @ 6:30PM and September 28 @ 4:00PM. Please RSVP to Bloom Consultants at firstname.lastname@example.org or 705-783-5932.
Huntsville Public Library is committed to providing quality services, relevant programs, up-to-date collections, and secure library facilities for individuals and groups in the community.
Strategic Planning has played an integral role in Huntsville Public Library Board's operations for almost 2 decades.
Strategic planning in the mid and late 1980s resulted in the Capital Campaign and the opening of the new library in 1995 as well as expanded Children's Programming.
The Strategic Agenda 1997-2002 drove the Help Your Shelf Campaign, and a major fundraising campaign to expand the Library's collection of books, videos, CDs, etc.
In 2003, the Board began a new cycle of strategic planning, beginning with a Needs Assessment Study. The goal of this study was to provide a foundation to develop a new Strategic Agenda to cover the period 2005-2009.
