SUBJECT: Step Two and Three of Modified Library Services

Posted On Friday July 03, 2020

7 Minerva St. E., Huntsville, ON, P1H 1W4

I want to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during Ontario’s extended declared State of Emergency (extended till July 15th, 2020).

Currently, the library staff can only enter the building when custodial staff is available to clean and disinfect the space according to COVID-19 guidelines. Staff are only in the building on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when we have custodial staff, working with the returned materials and prepping for the next steps of our modified services. Our top priority is keeping staff and our community safe as with all libraries across Ontario and Canada.

Every week we meet with libraries across Ontario to share and discuss procedures and best practices via Zoom. From these meetings and environmental scans, we can say that Huntsville Public Library is in step with a good percentage of libraries that are only starting to begin a curbside pick-up.

We are just as excited to move forward soon, as you are, with steps two and three of our modified services and are looking forward to seeing all of the friendly, smiling faces we have not seen in a while and miss. We are part of our community and miss our community as much as you miss us. We are grateful for your understanding and are bursting with joy to share the final details real soon!
