Located in Ontario’s cottage country, the Town of Huntsville is the largest community in the District Municipality of Muskoka and in proximity to the west side of Algonquin Park. Within this exciting setting, the Town of Huntsville has a vibrant downtown and offers many cultural and outdoor recreational opportunities.

eLibrarian

Under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the eLibrarian works as part of Huntsville Public Library’s (HPL) lead team to ensure the effective, efficient and coordinated delivery of services to the users in support of HPL’s mission, vision and strategic plan.

The eLibrarian is responsible for the development and support of the Virtual Library, electronic resources, the ILS and OPAC and associated eServices.   The eLibrarian coordinates and provides direction to the positions of Cataloguer and Public Service Assistant.   The eLibrarian is responsible for the selection of materials for adults in all formats.

The eLibrarian will provide training on the use of Library technologies and software to Library users and staff.  They will support the delivery of quality public service to users of all ages. 

The successful candidate possesses:

  • A Master of Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited Library school;
  • Knowledge of library procedures, practices, electronic resources and devices, integrated library systems and web support;
  • Intermediate or advanced proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite as well as current and emerging technologies (devices, hardware, etc.) and software;
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written.  

 

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset as the tool as the eLibrarian used the tool to create images and content for the website, newsletters (print & email) social media and marketing platforms. 

The salary for this 18month contract position is $58,021.60 (based on a 35 hour work week).
