 Teen Tech 
 

Huntsville Public Library is committed to providing accessible services, programs, collections and spaces designed to inspire and enrich the community.

Under the direction of the Youth Services Librarian, the Teen Tech creates and facilitates technology programs for all ages. The Teen Tech  also meets with visitors to the Library who want to connect, collaborate and create in the world of technology.   The Teen Tech may assist the Lead Team with other programs in the library, Virtual Library or through community outreach in support of HPL’s mission, vision and strategic plan.

The hourly rate for this position is $13.15.

Hours: 4 to 6 PM one day a week; other hours as needed for special events, summer programs, and outreach.

 Shelver
 

Huntsville Public Library is committed to providing accessible services, programs, collections and spaces designed to inspire and enrich the community.

 

Under the direction of the Central Service Delivery Coordinator, the Shelver utilizes skills (time management, organization, attention to detail) to assist in maintaining the order and neatness of collections by shelving materials using the Dewey Decimal System classification and by shelf-reading the collection.    The Shelver may assist the Lead Team with other duties in support of HPL’s mission, vision and strategic plan.  The shelving team supports each other by demonstrating flexibility in scheduling and a strong work ethic.   

 

Duties

  • Maintain the order and neatness of the collection by shelving and shelf-reading Library materials using the Dewey Decimal system; tidy the Library by ensuring that all materials left by Library users on tables, desks and chairs etc. are gathered and returned to the proper areas
  • Retrieve materials upon request
  • Participate in Library projects such as weeding, shifting, and displays.

 

Qualifications

  • Current high school student or graduate with high school diploma
  • Experience in a library setting is preferred
  • Ability to push, bend, stretch, and lift (up to 20kg)

 

Compensation

  • Dependent on the candidate hired.

 

Schedule

  • Hours include evenings and weekends as required.
