Hoopla

Hoopla lets you borrow music to listen in your web browser or enjoy offline on your smartphone or tablet. Limit of four downloads per month. The loan period for Hoopla music is seven days.

Getting started with Hoopla

You will need the following to use Hoopla:

  • A library card.
  • An internet connection.
  • A computer, tablet or smartphone.
  • The Hoopla app for iOS or Android (for your smartphone or tablet).
  • A Hoopla account.

Create your Hoopla account

To create your account:

  1. Begin by visiting Hoopla's website.
  2. Enter your email address and create a new password.
  3. Select Huntsville Public Library as your library.
  4. Choose your Hoopla notification options.
  5. Link your library card by typing in your barcode, and check the box that you agree to the terms and conditions.
  6. Select “sign me up”.

You can also register by using the mobile app on your iOS or Android device.

Using Hoopla on a computer

  1. Search or browse for music.
  2. Click on a music album to see more details.
  3. Select “borrow” to check out the title on your account.
  4. You can now view your content.
  5. You can only stream music on a computer.

Using Hoopla on a tablet or smartphone

  1. Download the Hoopla app from the App Store (iOS) or from Google Play.
  2. Launch the app and log in to your account.
  3. Search or browse for music.
  4. Click on a music album to see more details.
  5. Select “borrow” to check out the title on your account.
  6. You can now view your content.
  7. You can stream or download to a mobile device.
  8. Use a Wi-Fi connection instead of using a cellular connection to save your data.
