The Huntsville Public Library has a number of programs for adults including: craft and exercise programs, movie showings, workshops, author events and more.

Book Clubs

The Huntsville Public Library has several book clubs you can join. You must register to join any of our book clubs. You can order copies of book club books from interlibrary loan.

Wednesday Afternoon Book Club
The Wednesday Afternoon Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of the month from 2:00 to 3:00 PM.

The cookbook club meets to discuss cookbooks and exchange recipes. Bring along one of the recipes you've tried from our monthly themes for this potluck style meeting. 

We meet at 6:00 - 7:00 PM. Don't forget your plate and utensils.

Literary Libations

What was once called Books and Brews, has morphed into Literary Libations! Join us each month as we pair a delicious wine with an amazing book. We meet at 6:00-7:00 PM.

Triple P Parenting Seminars

Most of the time, parenting is fun. You know you are doing a good job. But there are times when things get a little tricky. Like when your toddler won’t eat her dinner. Or your six year old won’t pick up his toys. If only someone could give you some ideas to make those times easier! If this sounds like you, then a Triple P Seminar may be right for you.

You can register for one, two or all three seminars using the following methods:

Registration is required, but participation is free. You may register for one, two or all three seminars. Limited free childcare is available for seminars aimed at parents of children ages 2-12. 

For parents of children ages 2 to 12:

 VON SMART Exercise

The Victorian Order of Nurses (VON) offer the SMART exercise program at the library. The SMART program is a gentle fitness program designed for adults ages 55 and up.

These classes do not include any floor or mat work. Some exercises may use a chair for balance.

Virtual Reality with PlayStation 4 VR

Immerse yourself in extraordinary new worlds! Climb Mount Everest, work in a cafe, solve puzzles, and reach out and touch a rhino, all in pure 360° virtual reality!

Registration required. Children under the age of 13 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Virtual Reality Waiver.
