Income Tax Clinics

The Community Volunteer Income Tax Clinics (CVITP) is a program where volunteers complete income taxes for free. To be eligible for the program you must meet certain income criteria and have a simple tax situation. 

Please call the Library to make an appointment and check what times and dates are available. 

 Income Eligibility
  • 1 persons- $35,000
  • 2 persons- $45,000
  • 3 persons- $47, 500
  • 4 persons- $50,000
  • 5 persons- $52,500
  • More than 5 persons-$52,500 +$2500 for each additional person
Do any of these situations apply to you?

If any of these situations apply to you, unfortunately we cannot complete your return. 

  • filing for a deceased person
  • individuals who have filed for bankruptcy
  • have capital gains or losses
  • employment income or employment expenses
  • business or rental income or expenses
  • self employed

What should I bring to my appointment?

  • all T-slips (T4, T4A, T4E, etc.)
  • final municipal property tax bill or rent receipts and landlords name and telephone number
  • copy of last years tax return (if available)
  • notice of assessment from last year (if available)
  • for child dependents: fitness receipts, child care receipts or cultural program receipts
  • CRA letter approving disability claim if applicable
  • letter from physician indicating a you have a dependent with an infirmity, stating when the impairment began and how long it is expected to last
