The Huntsville Public Library offers programs for kids of all ages, with a focus on reading, technology and fun.

Some programs require registration. See program details for more information.

Baby/Toddler Storytime

Baby/toddler storytime includes 30 minutes of stories, songs, rhymes, bounces, finger plays, and sensory activities.

Ages 0 to 24 month. Please register.

Preschool Storytime

Preschool storytime includes 45 minutes of stories, songs, rhymes, finger plays, music shakers, scarves, and flannel board activities.

Paws To Read®

Paws To Read® allows children to read aloud to a certified therapy dog. Children may register for 15-minute time slots. In partnership with Therapeutic Paws of Canada.

Homeschool Library Afternoons

We offer a monthly homeschool program. Homeschool families are welcome to bring children and teens for an afternoon of learning and discovery about a different topic each month.

Tech Gadgets for Kids

Try out introductory coding with Cubetto and Ozobots, learn about circuits using Snap Circuits Junior, and try out a 3Doodler Start. Teen Tech Keira will demonstrate and teach you all about these gadgets.

Ages 4 to 9. Registration required. Cost: $5 per session.

 STEAM Club

Our STEAM Club is a monthly club that offers activities on science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM). There will be building, experiments, art, tech gadgets and more.

To celebrate International Literacy Day, the Huntsville Family Literacy Group is hosting an evening of literacy activities! Free tickets now available at the Library. Aimed at families with children ages 0 to 6.

Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week by visiting your Library for the 5th Annual Youth Tech Extravaganza!  Try out tech gadgets, robotics, 3D printing and design and much more!  Find out what you can do at your library and learn about tech in our community. All are invited!

Celebrate Ontario Public Library Week with a guest reader at Preschool Storytime! Deputy Mayor, Karin Terziano, will visit and read a few picture books!

PA Day Seasonal Green Screen Photos and Button Making

Drop by the Library to have your photo taken with the green screen, choose from selected backgrounds and have your photo emailed or printed. Make a button using your own design or a prepared seasonal image. Free for all ages.

Reindeer Party at Preschool Storytime

CodeCombat

Celebrate Canada Learning Code Week! Try out CodeCombat and learn about coding in a fun environment.

Carboard Car Drive-In

Kids are invited to make their own car out of cardboard boxes, then settle in behind the wheel for a couple of short films based on popular children’s books. Registration opens Friday, September 6.

 3D Printing for Tweens

Join us for an introduction to 3D printing and 3D object design. Design your own 3D model using TinkerCAD and have it printed using our 3D printer.

Holiday VR
