Library-to-Go: Launches November 10th!

We adhere to health and safety protocols. We are focused on providing safe Library-to-Go services where you can collect your requested library materials from the library.

This is a zero-contact process where the public remain outside the building.

Read all about it on this page!  This is a VERY NEW way to request and get your items.  Please, read carefully!

The hours of operation are significantly different.  Be sure to review the details on this page!

 How It Works
  1. Do not use this service if you have any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or have recently travelled outside Canada. Do not use this service if you have been in close contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  2. Follow and complete the process to place your items on HOLD – limit of 5 items. Start by logging in to your account here: My Library Card. Search the library catalogue, find the 5 items you want to read, and place them on hold.
  3. WAIT for an email notification or a phone call. Please be patient. This could take 5 - 7 days.
  4. Library staff runs the HOLD report regularly to pull items from the collection.  Depending on the volume of requests, it may take staff some time to pull everyone's items. Please be patient.
  5. A checkout notification email is sent to the email address connected to your library account with pick up details. If no email address is associated with your account, library staff will call you.
  6. WAIT for the notification or the call before going to Library-To-Go. 
  7. Come to the Library during the new Library-to-Go hours. 
  8. Present your Library card to Library staff at the front door through the glass. A space is made available at the front door so you can show your card through the glass. This is a zero-contact service and you are asked to stand outside the doors.
  9. If someone else is picking up your items they must have your library card with them.
    • You can email circulation@huntsvillelibrary.ca or call 705-789-5232 ext. 3410 BEFORE placing holds. Leave a message that includes your name and HPL card number. Be sure to leave the name of the person whom you appoint responsible to pick up your items.
  10. Step back two meters from the door allowing staff to open it and place your items on the designated table.
  11. Wait until staff close the door before approaching the table.
  12. Take your items and enjoy!

Allow 7 - 14 days for staff to process your HOLDS and call or email you.


NOTE: Staff are not available to answer the phone.

 What To Expect
  • Review the email notifying you that your items are ready for pick-up on specific days.
  • Be patient, wait times are going to be longer than you'd expect.
  • Library building remains closed to the public.
  • No in-person services.
  • Practice safe social distancing.
  • No Interlibrary loan services.
  • Borrowing period: 6 weeks
