 Library Operations Assistant - Part Time Contract

This is an exciting opportunity for a position with the Huntsville Public Library in the Town of Huntsville which is committed to providing quality services, relevant programs, up-to-date collections, and secure Library facilities for all individuals and groups in one of the most beautiful natural settings in Canada.

The Town of Huntsville is located two hours north of Toronto in beautiful Muskoka cottage country. Huntsville, with a population approaching 20,000, is the largest community in the District of Muskoka and is a vibrant and dynamic community in which to live, work and play.

Huntsville Public Library is accepting resumes for a part-time Library Operations Assistant. The Library Operations Assistant provides administrative support to the CEO/Chief Librarian by processing and depositing bi-weekly revenue, drafting procedures, connecting with Town of Huntsville Finance staff to pick up and deliver invoices, coordinating with the to maintenance visits by approved contractors, preparing for the monthly Library Board meeting, overseeing facility rental bookings, and assisting with other administrative tasks as needed.

Interested applicants must be a high school graduate (or equivalent), as well as having previous administrative and/or Library experience. You must have strong analytical skills, an eye for detail, as well as an ability to make decisions independently. Proficiency in personal computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook in addition to being familiar in learning new technology and programs is a must. Good communication skills with a pleasant and professional demeanor is also required.

Please note this is a contract position. The wage for this position is $27.85 per hour based on 25 hours per week.
