Ontario Parks Pass
Ontario Parks has provided free vehicle permits for members of the Huntsville Public Library so you can enjoy using its network of provincial parks. With more than 100 operating provincial parks to choose from, you can explore skiing and hiking trails and day use beaches across our beautiful province.

***New for 2025*** The Huntsville Library has generously received three additional passes from the Friends of the Huntsville Library. One of these passes is a "Lucky Day" pass, which cannot be put on hold and has a 3-day loan period. Feel free to drop by; if the pass is available, it could be your lucky day!
The Ontario Parks Pass offers admission for one vehicle and its occupants. Park capacity limitations will apply. Advance registration may be required for certain parks. Please visit the Ontario Parks Reservation System to make a FREE day use reservation using the Ontario Parks Pass. Provincial Parks Near Huntsville
We are fortunate to live in a region that has many provincial parks and hiking trails close by! Check this list of nearby operating and non-operating parks to prepare for the perfect outing:

Please Note: Both Algonquin and Arrowhead parks require day use visitors to make an online reservation prior to visiting these parks. This will ensure that you have a parking spot when you arrive. Reservations can be made up to 5 days in advance.

Snowshoes
Looking to try snowshoeing? You can borrow a pair of snowshoes for free from the library! We have two types of snowshoes available: the 21" Tubbs Wilderness, which supports a weight capacity of 80 lbs. to 150 lbs., and the 30" Atlas Access, which accommodates weights ranging from 150 lbs. to 250 lbs.
Snowshoes can be borrowed for 14 days on an adult card.

Bird Backpack
Want to try out bird watching? Hit the field with our Bird Backpack! It can be borrowed with an adult card for 14 days.
Our birding kit includes:
- Backpack
- Binoculars
- Two bird books
- Five bird bingo cards
- Five scavenger hunt cards
