Welcome to the Seed Library, sponsored by the Huntsville Horticultural Society! We promote gardening by offering a variety of seeds to share and plant. Whether you're a beginner or an expert, our library supports your gardening journey.
Borrow
- Choose a few types of seeds. (See alphabetical list provided)
- Transfer seeds (2-3 per plant) into a new envelope (one of ours or one you bring)
- Replace the original envelope in the seed library. If it is empty, place it in the middle middle section of the clear bin.
Grow
- Take your new seeds home and head start them inside (generally 6-8 weeks before the last frost - refer to the instructions on the package if applicable) or plant them directly in your garden after the frost.
- Water and watch them grow!
Return
- Let a few of your plants go to seed
- Harvest your seeds, and let them dry out
- Label them and bring them back to the Library so everyone can enjoy them year after year!
- Register as a seed donor
