Visiting Library Service
Visiting Library Service (VLS) provides a range of library materials to residents unable to get to the Library due to chronic illness or disability. Staff select materials based on a users interests and drop off items once a month.
Eligibility
Any person who is confined at home or in a health care institution within the Town of Huntsville and is unable to visit the library personally because of chronic illness or disability may apply.
How it Works
- A resident may apply to receive monthly material drop offs. A caregiver, relative or friend may also apply on behalf of an individual.
- Staff will contact the resident to determine needs and interests, then select materials from our collection.
- Once a month, staff will drop off books to the resident and pick up the previous materials to return to the Library.
- This is a free service, with no late fees associated with this membership. Any materials that are lost or damaged will be charged to the user based on the current fee schedule.
