Homeschool families are welcome to bring children and teens for monthly afternoons of hands-on activities related to Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. Please register.

Outdoor Storytime

Join us for Outdoor Storytime in different locations around Huntsville! Outdoor Storytime includes 30 minutes of picture books, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays for children ages 0-6 years. Bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy!

In the case of inclement weather, Storytime may be cancelled. Please check the website, social media, or call the library at 705-789-5232 for more information.

Storytime in the Park & HfA Concert

Join the Huntsville Library for a free story in River Mill Park. Babies, toddlers and their caregivers are introduced to books, songs, rhymes, bounces and fingerplays. Following the story, the little ones will be invited into the HfA Studio across the park for a free music concert and fun.

A Storytime Author Visit with Les Dakens and Ray the Dachshund

Meet Ray, the adorable and resilient blind Dachshund! Ray’s adventures are featured in a number of children’s books written by his forever person Les and he, along with his companion Rose, would love to meet you here at the library to tell you about some of their stories.

Perler Bead Characters

Visit your library to be creative with Perler Beads. Use your careful coordination to place beads on a tray, make a character with a pattern or from your imagination and it will be ironed for you. Ages 6-12.

Summer Lego Builders Club

Join other Lego fans at your library to be creative and build with Lego! There will be a build challenge, and creations will be put on display in the Children’s Library afterward. Space is limited, registration required.

Wild World of Writing

Love to write? Write a wild and wacky short story at your library! We’ll start with an ice breaker activity, pull items from our magical mystery bag to use as objects to include in your short story. 20 minutes to write, then the option to share! Ages 8-12.
