Minecraft Mondays

Love Minecraft? Come to your library to design and build in creative mode with other participants. Work on build challenges and block coding with Teen Tech Sophia in Minecraft: Education Edition.

Visit your library over the school break for Storytime aimed at babies, toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners! Enjoy picture books, rhymes and songs with educational scarves. Bring the extended family!

Young children and their caregivers experience picture books, and participate in rhymes, fingerplays, songs with music shakers and scarves, and flannel board activities.

Rise & Shine Storytelling Feast

Snow in the library? What? Plus, fun with parachutes, movement activities, fantastic picture books and rhymes! Join us for a morning of hands-on literacy activities to celebrate Family Literacy Day with the Huntsville Family Literacy Group. The event is brought to you by Community Living Huntsville, Huntsville Public Library and SMILE Sandy’s Mindful Interactive Life Experiences. Event location is the Friends’ Multi-Purpose Room at the library.

Paws To Read®

Read to Wilson, a therapy dog! Paws to Read® is a program for kids to read aloud to a child certified therapy dog and their dog handler to practice reading aloud in a comfortable environment.

Register for one to three 15-minute reading sessions. Registration opens December 12.

Lego Builders Club

Join other Lego fans at your library to be creative and build with Lego! There will be a build challenge, and creations will be put on display in the Children’s Library afterward.

Sewing supplies

PA Day Sewing with Mary Spring and Terri Howell

Put your creative skills to work this PA Day and create something new. Children will learn how to use computerized sewing machines and to hand sew. All supplies provided.
