Paws to Read®

Read to Wilson, a therapy dog! Paws to Read® is a program for kids to read to a child certified therapy dog and their dog handler to practice reading aloud in a comfortable environment.

Register for one or more 15 minute reading sessions. Registration opens March 18. Phone the Circulation Desk to register at 705-789-5232.

Spring Baby/Toddler Storytime

Babies, toddlers and their caregivers are introduced to books, songs, rhymes, bounces and fingerplays.

Do you have an interest in learning about technology? Come and join others to learn about building Lego EV3 robots and participate in fun coding challenges with help from Teen Tech Sophia.

Outdoor Storytime

Join us for Outdoor Storytime in different locations around Huntsville! Outdoor Storytime includes 30 minutes of picture books, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays for children ages 0-6 years. Bring a blanket to sit on and enjoy! Drop-in program.

In the case of inclement weather, Storytime may be cancelled or moved to the Children’s Library. Please check the website, social media, or call the library at 705-789-5232 for more information.

Outdoor Storytime & HFA Concert for Kids

Join us for Storytime and a tour at the Huntsville Fire Station! First, we will enjoy picture books, and songs with scarves. Then we will take a tour of the Huntsville Fire Station and have a chance to see the fire truck up close!

Crafting for Critters

“Crafting with Critters” is a fun and interactive morning on at the Huntsville Public Library where families can attend and create animal friendly toys for family pets and animals staying at Ontario SPCA Animal Centers.  Donations of pet food and monetary donations for the Ontario SPCA and Humane Society will be accepted, and all craft supplies will be provided.

All ages welcome, crafts aimed at ages 5-10. Drop-in.

Join the Huntsville Horticultural Society and Huntsville Public Library to paint a terracotta plant pot designed to be a water dish for bees and butterflies!

Join the Huntsville Horticultural Society and Huntsville Public Library to be creative! Use tissue paper, glue, and dried flowers from the Huntsville Horticultural Society to create a hanging floral lantern with a battery-operated tea light.

Lego Builders Club

Scientists in School: Science Snippets

Visit your library to enjoy a few snippets of science! Be a chemist and discover the difference between baking soda and powder. Create a fantastical creature while investigating dominant and recessive genes. Make a pompom launcher and explore physics. Discover aeronautics by building and testing a plane. A snippet is just the beginning!
